Using Address Search

The address search feature lets you instantly find which zone covers any location. This guide covers all the search capabilities.

Basic Search

1. Click the search bar at the top of the map
2. Start typing an address, business name, or landmark
3. Select from the autocomplete suggestions
4. The map zooms to the location and highlights the matching zone

Search Tips

Full Addresses

For best results, include as much detail as possible:

• Good: "123 Main Street, Boone, NC 28607"
• Better: "123 Main St, Boone, North Carolina"
• Works: "123 Main St Boone"

Partial Addresses

You can search with partial information:

• Street name only: "Main Street, Boone"
• Intersection: "Main St and King St, Boone"
• Neighborhood: "Downtown Boone"

Business Names

Search by business or landmark name:

• "Walmart Boone NC"
• "App State University"
• "Boone Mall"

ZIP Codes

Search by ZIP code to jump to that area:

• "28607" - jumps to that ZIP code area

Understanding Results

When you search, you'll see:

| Element | Description | |---------|-------------| | Map Pin | Shows the exact searched location | | Highlighted Zone | The zone covering that address (if any) | | Info Popup | Zone name, driver, and service day |

No Zone Found

If your search shows "No zone found":

1. The address is outside service areas - Check with your office
2. Typo in the address - Try searching again
3. New development - The zone may not be mapped yet

Tip: Zoom out to see if there are nearby zones. The address might be just outside a boundary.

Mobile Search

On mobile devices:

• Tap the search icon to expand the search bar
• Use your device keyboard for input
• Tap a suggestion to select it
• Tap outside to close the search

Troubleshooting

Search is slow

• Check your internet connection
• Clear browser cache and reload

Can't find an address

• Try adding city and state
• Check spelling
• Search for a nearby landmark instead

Wrong location shown

• Be more specific (add city, state, ZIP)
• Make sure you selected the correct suggestion
