RouteRef is fully optimized for smartphones and tablets. Here's how to get the best experience on mobile devices.
Accessing on Mobile
Simply visit your company's RouteRef URL in your mobile browser:

No app download required - it works right in your browser.

Touch Navigation
Moving the Map
- Pan: Touch and drag with one finger
- Zoom in: Pinch outward with two fingers
- Zoom out: Pinch inward with two fingers
- Double-tap: Quick zoom in
Selecting Zones
- Tap a zone: Shows zone information popup
- Tap outside: Closes the popup
- Tap and hold: Shows detailed information
Mobile Interface
The mobile interface is streamlined for smaller screens:
Search Bar
- Tap the search icon to expand
- Type your address
- Tap a suggestion to search
- Tap X to close
Legend/Filters
- Tap the menu icon (☰) to open filters
- Select day or driver filters
- Tap outside to close
Zone Popups
- Appear at the bottom of the screen
- Show zone name, driver, and day
- Swipe down or tap X to close
Tips for Mobile Users
Save to Home Screen
Add RouteRef to your home screen for quick access:
iPhone/iPad:
- Open RouteRef in Safari
- Tap the Share button
- Select Add to Home Screen
- Tap Add
Android:
- Open RouteRef in Chrome
- Tap the three dots menu
- Select Add to Home Screen
- Tap Add
Offline Access
RouteRef requires an internet connection. If you're in an area with poor signal:
- Load the map while you have connection
- The map tiles may cache for brief offline viewing
- Search and zone data require active connection
Battery Saving
- Lower screen brightness when using outdoors
- Close other apps to improve performance
- Use Wi-Fi when available to save data
Troubleshooting Mobile Issues
Map won't load
- Check your internet connection
- Refresh the page
- Clear browser cache
Touch not responding
- Make sure you're tapping directly on zones
- Try zooming in for smaller zones
- Check that JavaScript is enabled
Slow performance
- Close other browser tabs
- Restart your browser
- Check available storage on your device
Admin Panel on Mobile
The admin panel is also mobile-friendly, though we recommend using a desktop or tablet for:
- Creating new zones (drawing is easier with a mouse)
- Bulk editing operations
- Detailed data review
Basic tasks like viewing zones, checking audit logs, and managing drivers work well on mobile.
