  • Fastest map rendering
  • Best touch support
  • Most reliable address search
  • Excellent mobile experience

Browser Requirements

RouteRef requires:

  • JavaScript enabled (usually on by default)
  • Cookies enabled (for login sessions)
  • LocalStorage (for preferences)
  • WebGL (for map rendering)

Checking Your Browser

Enable JavaScript

Most browsers have JavaScript enabled by default. If the map doesn't load:

  1. Check browser settings
  2. Look for "JavaScript" or "Content settings"
  3. Ensure it's enabled

Enable Cookies

For login to work:

  1. Go to browser settings
  2. Find "Cookies" or "Privacy"
  3. Allow cookies for routeref.com

Known Issues

Safari Private Browsing

  • Login sessions may not persist
  • Use regular browsing mode for best experience

Internet Explorer

  • Not supported
  • Please use Edge, Chrome, or Firefox

Older Browser Versions

  • Map may not display correctly
  • Please update to the latest version

Browser Extensions

Some extensions can interfere with RouteRef:

Ad Blockers

  • May block map tiles or search
  • Try disabling for routeref.com

Privacy Extensions

  • May block necessary cookies
  • Whitelist routeref.com if needed

VPN Extensions

  • May slow down map loading
  • Generally work fine

Mobile Tips

Best Performance

  1. Use WiFi when possible
  2. Close other browser tabs
  3. Try landscape orientation for more map space

Touch Gestures

  • Pinch: Zoom in/out
  • Drag: Pan the map
  • Tap: Select a zone
  • Long press: Alternative to right-click

Troubleshooting Steps

If RouteRef isn't working:

  1. Update your browser to the latest version
  2. Clear cache and cookies
  3. Disable extensions temporarily
  4. Try incognito/private mode
  5. Try a different browser
